Pakistan’s historic victory against India in the ICC Champions Trophy final at Oval will stay as the Cricket headline of the year 2017.

Overall the year 2017 witnessed Pakistan Cricket performing well to new heights under the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed. Pakistan has played 18 one days this year and won 12 of them.

Pakistan Cricket team will also finish off the year as the top ranked T20 side, in the latest ICC rankings with rating of 124 above India at 121 points. Currently, Imad Wasim is the top ranked T20 bowler. The year also saw the return of international cricket in Pakistan. The World XI, led by the South African Faf du Plessis, played 3 T20s in Qadafi Stadium, Lahore. Pakistan clinched their first ever test series win against West Indies in Caribbean. Yasir Shah remained Pakistan’s most successful bowler in Test cricket in 2017 with 43 wickets in six tests. Younis Khan became the first Pakistani to score 10,000 runs in test Cricket before he and Misbah could retire from all formats of the game. Apart from one day series defeat in Australia and test series lost in UAE against Sri Lanka, Pakistan have improved impressively in all departments during the year and it’ll be inquisitive to see if the green shirts could carry on the same winning streak in 2018.
