Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan has finally joined Instagram on his 53rd birthday and the first thing he has posted is a beautiful collage of an old picture of his mother Zeenat Hussain.

One of the pictures of the collage was captioned: “The person because of whom I am who I am.”

A source close to Aamir Khan revealed why he particularly chose this picture to post on Instagram.

“Aamir is keen on making an Instagram debut on his birthday and enough thought is being put on what should be the first post on the photo sharing platform. And he wants to keep it something personal, and close to his heart. After considering several ideas, Aamir has zeroed in on a sketch of his mother that has been gifted to him by someone close to the family. Aamir is devoted to his mother and believes that everything he is today, is because of his mother.”

Aamir Khan joined Instagram a day before his 53rd birthday and within 12 hours he managed to pull in above 24k followers on a verified account. Among his followers included his Dangal co-star Sanya Malhotra and actress Dia Mirza.

The actor previously used Twitter to communicate with his fans and he has over 23 million followers on Twitter and his Facebook page is liked by 15 million people.

The news about Aamir Khan joining Instagram spread like wildfire and trended on twitter for a longer time.

For the profile picture on Instagram, the actor has kept a picture of his Thugs Of Hindostan look. He is currently shooting for the same film in Jodhpur and will reportedly be having a working birthday. Thugs Of Hindostan, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is slated to release this Diwali.

Back in 2014, the news of Aamir joining Instagram had gone viral; after which the actor clarified in a tweet that it was a fake account.

“Guys, I am not on Instagram. It’s obviously some fake account,” Aamir wrote in his tweet.
