Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui talks about his Mom co-star and late Bollywood actor Sridevi.
Adnan Siddiqui said “Sridevi’s death has not affected me alone, it has caused a collective grief. She celebrated life in her performances and we forever celebrate her. She will never be forgotten, no matter what. For us, living in Pakistan, she was a heroine who ruled the screen like a queen. She was as loved in Pakistan as she was in India. Sajal Ali and I (both were Sridevi’s co-actors in her last movie, Mom) were the ones from Pakistan who knew her and the family well.”
Its such a mixed feeling for me and i was really honored that i shared the big screen with her and also could be the co-star in her last film Mom. At the same time im really sad that she is no more with us i was in Dubai last night and Boney Kapoor was crying like a baby because he had lost a precious gem. I remember during the shooting of Mom Sajjal Ali’s mother has passed away but Sridevi was the one who consoled her and said to her “Im like your mom.” During the shooting she took care of Sajjal just like her daughter and now i feel sad about her two daughters Jhanvi and Khushi kapoor. Sri devi was really happy for Jhanvi as she was making her debut film but to sad she wont be there to see her.
The entire nation is sad as we lost a gem, I can say that she was loved in Pkaistan as much as she was loved in India just because of her performances. I received condolence messages from everywhere Pakistan, USA, and UK.
I have been thinking about all the support i got from Sridevi she was a living legend i remember she and her husband were great hosts to us. I would really want to visit India for her funeral. But the unfortunate scenario between the two nations would not let us share the sorrow with each other, forget about happiness.
Sridevi’s funeral is today as her body has been moved to India this afternoon. We have surely lost a gem.
