Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary finally hit the cinemas on February 16. And the Neeraj Pandey film is off to an extremely slow start at the Silver box office. It collected Rs 3.36 crore on Friday and Rs 4.04 crore on Saturday. With its first weekend coming to a close, the chances of Aiyaary bouncing back are fairly less.

Trade analyst Taran Ardash had earlier predicted that the film will cross the 15 crore mark in the opening days. Aiyaary is facing some tough competition from Marvel’s Black Panther and the twinkle Khanna film Padman which released earlier a week ago starring Akshay Kumar.

Trade analyst Taran Ardash Tweeted on his personal twitter account about the movie ““#Aiyaary witnessed an upward trend on Sat, but the 2-day total is underwhelming… Biz is better in metros… Fri 3.36 cr, Sat 4.04 cr. Total: ₹ 7.40 cr. India biz.”

Several critics have the same points about the movie, they say that the film is Aiyaary for which Neeraj Pandey gets story, script and directorial credit. However the film is not strong enough to fight the silver box office. The plot is emaciated. The narration, which revolves around deception and sense of duty is long winding. Though there is a list of some experienced names in the movie but the movie need a little more to fight the odds.

Aiyaary explores the story of two army officers, played by Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee, who share a mentor protege relationship and how the former of the two go rogue and decides to destroy one of the government’s best kept secrets. The movie has been directed by Neeraj Pandey and also features Rakul Preet Singh, Naseer Uddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Kumud Mishra, Adil Hussain and Vikram Gokhale in significant roles. Well lets see what happens in the upcoming days for Aiyaary will it be successful or become a blockbuster flop.
