Disney has started working on their sequel for Aladdin, and Guy Ritchie will be coming back to the director’s chair to helm the project once again. According to recent reports the makers of the film have roped in John Gatins and Andrea Berloff to pen the script of the film.

Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith will be returning to the franchise to reprise their roles of Aladdin, Genie and Princess Jasmine. The film opened worldwide in May 2019 and the film gave Disney 1 billion USD at the box office making it a box office hit.

Aladdin was a story which revolved around a thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.” The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.

Currently the film is under the works and no release date has been finalized uptil now.
