Sony is in early stages of developing a reboot of its 1997 creature film Anaconda the film was a blockbuster hit at that time as it was one of the most viewed film. The films story was based on a story of friends who go to a swamp for picnic however all the entertainment gets spoiled when a gigantic anaconda attacks the group of friends.

According to recent reports Sony studios has roped in Evan Daugherty who penned the script of Snow White and the Huntsman and the film Divergent. He will be writing the script for the new project which will be a reboot to the 1997 film.

Uptil now no producer or director is announced and there has been no selection of cast for the reboot. The original movie was directed by Luis Llosa. The film featured Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz and Owen Wilson in the cast of the film.

The film received average reviews however the film was able to make a splash at the box office, raking in 135 million dollars against its 45 million dollar budget.

The movie had several sequels over the years but none were able to match its success. Well lets see what the reboot has in for us and when it will go on the floors.
