Andy Serkis has revealed that he has meetings with Sony Entertainment executives for the talk of a venom sequel and he will be taking over the directorial duties. There were reports that Andy Serkis, Travis Knight and Rupert Wyatt were in talks for the sequel of the 2018 blockbuster film Venom.

Ruben Fleischer helmed the first part, however the director has confirmed that he will not be returning to direct the film as he is currently busy with the post-production of his film Zombieland: Touble Tap.

In a recent interview Andy Serkis had revealed Yes I’ve had meetings with Sony, so that’s potentially something that might happen. But we’ll see….”

Sony’s Venom starred Tom Hardy in the title role and Venom was a global hit which is also starred Riz Ahmed in and Michale Williams the film had grossed over 850 million all around the world.  The film had received many negative reviews, it only scored a 29% rating on rotten tomatoes and the critics had said “Venom’s first standalone movie turns out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways – chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man.”

Eddie Brock is in control by the symbiotes and it seems like he is getting used to the powers of them and is having a good time after he faces some issues in the beginning of the trailer. The trailer had a lot of action, at one point we can see Venom fighting of some Swat officers, and before the fight starts Eddie Brock tells them not to do anything or they will face the consequences.

Tom Hardy is expected to make the return and the studio is hoping to start filming this year
