Andy Serkis will be directing the sequel for the Venom starring Tom Hardy as the antihero Venom who is controlling his symbiotes .

According to Variety it is has been said Ruben Fleischer will not be returning to direct the sequel as he is busy with the post-production of his film Zombieland: Double Tap.  Andy Serkis who has directed films such as breathe and Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle will most probably be working on the project however Sony is also in talks with Travis Knight and Rupert Wyatt.

Sony’s Venom starred Tom Hardy in the title role and Venom was a global hit which is also starred Riz Ahmed in and Michale Williams the film had grossed over 850 million all around the world.  The film had received many negative reviews, it only scored a 29% rating on rotten tomatoes and the critics had said “Venom’s first standalone movie turns out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways – chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man.”

Eddie Brock is in control by the symbiotes and it seems like he is getting used to the powers of them and is having a good time after he faces some issues in the beginning of the trailer. The trailer had a lot of action, at one point we can see Venom fighting of some Swat officers, and before the fight starts Eddie Brock tells them not to do anything or they will face the consequences.

Tom Hardy is expected to make the return and the studio is hoping to start filming this year.
