After the real struggle, the veteran writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar has finally found the leading lady for his directorial film, Kaaf Kangana, and she is none other than the gorgeous Ayesha Omar.
The actress has been roped in for the lead role opposite Sami Khan. Earlier, Sohai Ali Abro, Anoushay Mogul and Urwa Hocane have been approached for the same role but they both turned down the offers due to some prior work commitments.
Ayesha Omar in her latest interview with Images revealed a little bit about her character, Gulnaz , in the film.
Speaking of her character, Gulnaz, exclusively, Ayesha revealed that she will be playing an exuberant girl from Lahore. ”My character is based in the Walled City of Lahore. It’s of a very bubbly, fearless, feisty girl called Gulnaz,” she disclosed.
“She’s somebody who is not scared of anybody, she’s got her Dada [paternal grandfather] wrapped around her finger. She belongs to an upper-middle class family, and she’s just very rich and colourful,” Ayesha continued. “We’ve been shooting at actual locations [in interior Lahore], and that’s been really tough, but we’ve seen the footage and it’s come out really well.”
The writer Khalil ur Rehman also told media that Ayesha Omer was an apt choice for the role because she belonged to the City of Garden and had spent her entire childhood there.
“Ayesha being brought up in Lahore helps me because she’s doing really well [with her dialogue delivery],” he shared. “I wanted a Lahori girl for the part and her personal experiences are making it all the more real.”
Kaaf Kangana has been made in collaboration with the ISPR and has strong patriotic elements beautifully embedded in an intense romantic story. The film is currently on the shoot and is slated to release on Eid-ul-Adha.
