KJo’s ‘Kalank’  is slated for a release in 2019. However, it has already begun to collect a lot of fame and for all the right reasons! After all, the film is not only being directed by an acclaimed filmmaker but also stars big names like Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in lead roles. But wait…this piece is not meant to be about ‘Kalank’!

A biopic of Rani Laxmi of Jhansi, Manikarnika stars none other than the brilliant actress Kanagana Ranaut in the lead role along with TV actor Ankita Lokhnade. The film shows Laxmi’s fight against the British and Ranaut playing it is definitely something to look forward to.


  1. Thugs of Hindostan

Slated for a release on November 7, 2018, the much raved about film stars bigwigs like Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. Katrina Kaif will also be a part of this period drama which is set during the early 19th century.



  1. Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran

This film with such an interesting name is about the story of India’s nuclear test that occurred in 1988. Starring John Abraham in lead role, it is unfortunately stuck in legal hassles amongst the producers.

  1. Panipat

I’m sure we have all studied about the third war of Panipat at one point of time in our History classes. And this film, starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon, and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, will definitely paint a better picture of the war in our minds. It is scheduled for a release on December 6, 2019.

Based on India’s historic Olympic win in 1948, Gold will see phenomenal actor Akshay Kumar playing a Bengali hockey coach. It is slated for a release on August 15.


  1. Battle of Saragarhi

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, this film is based on the battle that took place in 1897. Randeep Hooda will be seen playing the lead role essaying the character of Havaldar Ishar Singh.
