Director Todd Philips who has recently directed the film Joker has ended all the rumors of Joker being related to the comic book world. Todd Philips had revealed in a recent interview where he said that the film will not be from the comic books and he knows people are going to be mad about this.
Speaking to Empire he said “We didn’t follow anything from the comic-books, which people are gonna be mad about. We just wrote our own version of where a guy like Joker might come from. That’s what was interesting to me. We’re not even doing Joker, but the story of becoming Joker. It’s about this man.”
Joker which is starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead roles will be the first ever film to focus on the life of a failed comedian Arthur Fleck who turns into of the biggest mastermind criminal of Gotham. The official synopsis of the film reads out “Joker centers around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”
Joker has been made on a low budget of 55 million budget and it looks like Joker will be rocking the big screens as the Gotham’s most famous villain has some really big fans.
Joker Origins film will be hitting the big screens on October 4 2019.
