France becomes the champions of world football for the second time in history by defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final of FIFA World Cup 2018 in Moscow on Sunday.

Didier Deschamps becomes the third person ever to win the world cup both as a player and coach. He was the captain of world cup side that defeated Brazil by 3-0 in Paris back in 1998.

The final was featured with some interesting incidents. Despite of the fact that this world cup will be remembered for a galore of own goals and so final was not different. Moreover, the pitch was invaded by a teenager and French goalkeeper’s blunder was worth watching too.

As far as the game is concerned, first half was a treat to watch. Croatians started confidently and positively until Mandzukic headed the ball into his own goal. Ten minutes later, Perisic rocketed an equalizer into the French net to make things even. Soon after, a handball by the Croatian goal scorer let Griezmann put France ahead once again by finishing the penalty kick successfully.

The second half witnessed France in control. The two consecutive goals by Pogba and Mbappe put France leading by 4-1. Pogba became the first Manchester United player to score a goal in the world cup final. Furthermore, Mbappe became the first teenager to score in a world cup final since Pele.

Croatia was once tantalized in the second half when Mandzukic scored the second goal by capitalizing on Lloris’s gaffe to give his fans some hope. He became the second player ever to score a goal for his team and an own goal in a single game.

As soon this eventful final match ended, the ground was overwhelmed by the French celebrations and hopefully partying will continue for some time this week across France.
