Idris Elba will not be playing the role for Deadshot in the 2016 hit film reboot Suicide Squad 2. James Gunn who has recently been chosen as the Suicide Squad 2 director, picked Idris Elba to replace Will Smith as Deadshot in the film Suicide Squad 2 but it has been confirmed that Elba will not be taking up the role however he will be playing some other role in the Suicide Squad reboot.
The upcoming Suicide Squad which will be directed by James Gunn is basically a reboot of the 2016 film as the film had failed to impress the critics but it was a commercial success on the other hand. The film had only received a score of 27% on Rotten Tomatoes and it was said that the interference of Heavy Studios played a big role in the failure of this film.
However it has not been confirmed that if the film will be showing us the scenes from Part 1 or will they be totally ignored by James Gunn. James Gunn had directed the first two films in the Guardians of Galaxy franchise and both the films were huge commercial success however after some old tweets resurfaced from James Gunn twitter account he was fired by Disney but soon after that he was hired by DC to direct the film Suicide Squad.
Talking about Idris Elba he is no longer a stranger to the comic book world as we saw him in Marvel Movie as Heimdall, who basically plays the role of THOR’s friend, he made his last appearance in Avengers: Infinity War but he was killed in the war against Thanos. Idris Elba will also be seen in the upcoming spinoff from Fast and Furious which is titled as Hobbs and Shaw and he will be playing the villain the in the film.
