It has been a Super Sunday for T20 Cricket where six of the test playing nations clashed at different venues. As Pakistan prepares for the upcoming PSL tournament, more matches of T20s are being contested at a high fervor. Indians have been underdogs in the test series, came extremely hard at South Africans, beating them in One Day Internationals by 5-1 and now defeating them convincingly again in the first T20 by 28 runs at the New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on Sunday. India gave South Africa a target of 204 contributed with 72 fiery runs by Shikhar Dhawan. South Africa finished the chase at 175 for 9.

Earlier England defeated New Zealand but couldn’t reach the Tri-Series Final to be played against Australia on Wednesday. Batting first, England scored 194 with Morgan’s brilliant 80 not out and Malan’s 53. New Zealand couldn’t finish as winners despite of Guptill’s 62 and Munro’s 57 runs. Well, it was still enough for the Kiwi’s to take on the Aussies in the final showdown at Auckland.

Sri Lanka ended their Bangladesh tour in style, crushing the hosts by 75 runs to wrap up the T20 series 2-0. Sri Lanka set a high total of 210 batting first in Sylhet. Mendis scored thrilling 72 runs from 42 deliveries. Bengalis couldn’t get up to a good start and they never seemed in control and managed to score 135 all out in the nineteenth over.

The T20 wave will continue over the coming weeks including a much anticipated final between Australia and New Zealand. Also it’ll be interesting to see whether South Africa would be able to salvage the T20 series against India with some attacking cricket which they haven’t been able to produce lately. Furthermore, PSL battle is round the corner and looks inevitably ready to grip the nation soon.
