Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez made their first onscreen appearance together in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick – and the wonderful couple is back again in the sequel of the film.

For quite some time rumors are doing the rounds that the director is keen to take Deepika Padukone on board for Kick 2 but the recent statement of Sajid Nadiadwala cleared all such speculations as he confirmed that Jacqueline will play lead role in the second part of the film.

Confirming the news, Sajid told a leading daily, “We had already decided that there would be a sequel. I’ve been writing it for a year now. As I had a lot of other things on my plate, it was taking time. I’ll restart the writing process. We should be ready to roll the movie next year, after Salman finishes all his current films. Kick 2 will release on Christmas 2019,” he said.

The director while talking about the possibility of signing Jacqueline Fernandez for the film said:

“Once I finish penning the script, I’ll be completely sure. But at present, she’s (Jacqueline) there in what I’m writing. But it’s too early to talk about it,” he added.

Jacqueline Fernandez although made her debut with Aladdin but her career got a real boost with the release of Kick. The actress has always been thankful to Salman Khan for making an important role in lifting her career.

“He came like a guardian angel and picked me up from a career low, never made me feel indebted to him for kick. On the contrary, he’s always made it seem like i did it on my own,” Jacqueline told Mumbai Mirror in an earlier interview.

The actress is also working with Dabaang Khan in Race 3.
