Filmmaker James Gunn has revealed that he turned down to direct the film, Superman, because of the Suicide Squad Reboot.

In a Q&A session James Gunn revealed this to his fan saying “As has been reported many times, DC offered me whatever film I wanted to do, including some sort of Superman movie not specifically ‘Man of Steel 2’ as I’ve seen reported.”

He further added on “I chose The Suicide Squad because it’s one of my favorite properties in the world. It’s the story I wanted to tell more than any other.”

The upcoming Suicide Squad which will be directed by James Gunn is basically a reboot of the 2016 film as the film had failed to impress the critics but it was a commercial success on the other hand. The film had only received a score of 27% on Rotten Tomatoes and it was said that the interference of Heavy Studios played a big role in the failure of this film.

The film will also be starring Flula Borg, Idris Elba, John Cena, Daniela Melchior and David Dastmalchian, Michael Rooker as the newcomers. Margot Robbie is also coming back who will be playing the role of Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney will also be returning as Captain Boomerang.  The film is all set release on August 6,2021.
