Joaquin Phoenix who was seen as Arthur Fleck AKA The Joker has revealed that he will not be returning for a sequel of the Joker Film after the success of this film.

In a recent interview the actor stated that he and Todd Philips would have discussions about a sequel however those were all before the success of the film. He stated “I wouldn’t just do a sequel just because the first movie is successful, that’s ridiculous long before the release or before we had any idea if it would be successful, we talked about sequels, In the second or third week of shooting, I was like: ‘Todd, can you start working on a sequel? There’s way too much to explore.’ It was kind of in jest but not really.”

Filmmaker Todd Philips had revealed that there is no plan for a sequel of the Joker Movie uptil now. The makers have said that they have intended to make the film a standalone film and are not planning for any sequel.

Todd Philips had also teased about a sequel saying “It all on Joaquin, anything Joaquin wants to do.” But recently when the filmmaker spoke to IGN regarding his tease he stated “We have no plans for a sequel. The quote was, ‘I will do anything Joaquin wants to do.’ And I would. But the movie’s not set up to (have) a sequel. We always pitched it as one movie, and that’s it.”
