While breaking his vow to not act again, producer turned actor Karan Johar is now gearing up for his next acting assignment. He has apparently signed Vashu Bhagnani upcoming film, Boom Boom In New York.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh broke this news on Twitter.

He wrote, ‘’Karan Johar, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and a massive ensemble cast… #BoomBoomInNewYork [3D], a comedy, to release on 23 Feb 2018… Chakri Toleti directs… Vashu Bhagnani and Wiz Films produce the film.’’

Karan Johar made his acting debut with a small role in Shahrukh Khan and Kajor starrer, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. His next big acting venture was with Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. Although the film tanked at the box-office, but Karan Johar received a lot of appreciation for his role.

After having not so good experience with Bombay Velvet, Karan vowed to never return to acting. But it seems that he is unable to keep his vow as he is returning to acting with Boom Boom in New York.

Produced by Vashu Bhagnani and Wiz Films, the film is slated to release on 23rd February 2018.

Talking about his acting skills, Karan had earlier said, ‘’Nobody has offered me any role till now. I think nobody has liked me. Why should I be blaming Anurag Kashyap (for the film’s failure).’’

“I should at least get offers to refuse them. I can’t cast myself in my own films…I am not that stupid,” he had said when asked about his plans on acting front.

Meanwhile, on the production front Karan Johar is busy with Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra.
