Ek Villain director Mohit Suri has really been struggling hard to find the female lead for his upcoming film as two of his first choices, Kriti Sanon and Disha Patani, have turned down the project.
According to Indian media, Mohit Suri had recently announced his new film with Aditya Roy Kapur in the male lead. The director was keen to cast Kriti Sanon and Disha Patani in the female lead but apparently both actresses had turned down the offer.
Reportedly, Kriti Sanon has refused the offer because she is currently busy in the shoot of Housefull 4, opposite Akshay Kumar.
On the other hand, Disha Patani has said ‘no’ to the film because she will be now concentrating on her big-budget South film, Sanghamitra, an upcoming two-part Tamil film (epic historical drama) written and helmed by Sundar C.
Other than Aditya Roy Kapur, the film also features another male lead as the story is a love triangle between a girl and two boys. Some newspapers have reported that ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ famed actor Sunny Singh has been approached for second male lead but no confirmation about the news has came out so far.
Speaking of the film, the source said, “It’s an edgy romantic thriller. It was an idea that Mohit was toying with for quite some time and he has finally cracked the script.”
Reportedly, the film is slated to go on floors in the next few months.
