Verna star Mahira Khan is all set to represent Pakistan at UK Asian Film Festival 2018 which is scheduled to take place from March 15 to 25 at venues across Edinburgh, Manchester, Leicester and London.
According to sources, Mahira Khan is invited onboard as chief guest. She will do a special segment with fans, ‘In Conversation with actress Mahira Khan’ during the Opening Gala Dinner for the festival.
Reportedly, the Humsafar star will be conducting a Q&A with audiences at Phoenix Cinema, Leicester on 15th March and at Regent Street Cinema, London on 16th March.
It has also been reported that Mahira Khan’s recently released Pakistan film, Verna will also be screened during the film festival. Verna is a Pakistani social-drama film; written, directed and produced by Shoaib Mansoor under his Shoman Productions. The film stars Mahira Khan and debutant Haroon Shahid in leading roles.
According to the organizers of the film festival, women-centric movies will be screened during the event, and the opening gala, will feature an awards presentation honouring women that have successfully broken stereotypes to make a difference.
Amongst others, the chief guests also include India’s Simi Garewal. The actress will be receiving a special award honouring female heroes, as well as leading a tribute to veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, with whom she starred in the controversial English film, Siddhartha.
