Margot Robbie is bringing the Barbie girl back with a live action drama film, Mattel and Warner Bros. announced this news on Tuesday that Margot Robbie will be playing the role of the iconic doll in the first ever Barbie live action drama film.
The 28 year old actress will also be co-producing the project under the banner of her LuckyChap Entertainment. Margot Robbie said in a press statement “tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide.” Margot Robbie is glad to be doing this movie and says that she couldn’t imagine having better partners than Warner Bros and Barbie creator Mattel.
The film has just revealed one of its member from the cast and the makers of the film however no title, no release date has not been revealed we do not know if Shooting has also started or not. However the film that will be coming to the big screens soon has marked the collaboration of the Two US companies.
Toby Emmerich of Warner Bros says “Margot is the ideal producer and actress to bring Barbie to life on screen in a fresh and relevant way for today’s audiences.” Before this recents reports had it that comedian Amy Schumer would be casted as the Barbie doll however she dropped out of the project in 2017 after that Anne Hathaway was also linked to the project but she did not came on top for the role and Sony had shelved the idea for the film.
The first Barbie doll was introduced to the world at the New York Toy Fair in 1959 and since then it has been famous, then the character became famous with its animated movies and it was also casted in the Toy Story Film.
