Martin Freeman who played the role of a CIA agent in Marvel’s film Black Panther has opened up saying that there will be a sequel to the film Black Panther.
Marvel has not made any official announcement regarding the project however Martin Freeman has announced that he will be returning in the sequel of Black Panther.
Talking to collider the actor said “As far as I know, I will be returning. As far as I know, I will be in another Black Panther. That’s my understanding. As to when that will happen, I don’t know.”
It is expected that Ryan Coogler will be returning to direct the film. Marvel’s Kevin Feige also hinted that Black Panther’s sequel can be a a part of the fifth phase of Marvel.
Black Panther starred Chadwick Boseman, Michael B Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Andy Serkis. It tells us the story of T’Challa (Boseman) who returns to his homeland, the fictional African nation of Wakanda. He faces threats from Jordan’s Killmonger and Andy Serkis’s Ulysses Klaue. The film had received positive reviews, not just because of the performances, visuals, and action scenes, but also because of the dominant black cast, positive portrayal of African culture and progressive values.
Black Panther was also the first Marvel Superhero film that won an Oscar award which grossed over 1.3 billion Dollars.
