It has been really a tremendous year for Mawra Hocane with big endorsement deals, a successful drama serial, a film project and multiple awards under her belt.

As the year is about to end, Hocane has revealed another big surprise for her fans with the announcement of her next television program, Aangan.

The actress has recently revealed the first look of the drama through Instagram post.

Introducing the character, Hocane also shared one of the dialogues from the drama, ““Mera naam Aaliya hai. Aaliya begum Nahi. Samajh gaye app..’

Mawra also shared behind the scene picture where she was getting ready for shoot.

Directed by Ehteshamuddin of Udaari and Sadqay Tumharay fame and also stars Ahsan Khan, Sajal Ali, Ahad Raza Mir and Sonya Hussain in lead roles. Set in the era of 40’s, the drama serial is based on famous novel of Khadija Mastoor.

Earlier, the director in his exclusive conversation with dawn told about the storyline.

“The drama is planned as a three-part series spanning a number of decades. It begins with Khatija Mastoor’s original novel set in the ’40s and ’50s, and writer Mustafa Afridi has imagined these characters on a continued journey into the 1980s and 2000s. It’s a grand project, which will require a lot of vision and planning but one that will be a landmark for Pakistani television when it comes to fruition,” he said.

Aangan is expected to air on Hum TV some time in next year.
