The Revival

Mike Flanagan is writing the script for Stephen King’s novel Revival. Mike Flanagan and Trever Macy who were also attached to last year’s film Doctor Sleep which was also an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel and this will be the third part in the franchise.

The first part was ‘The Shining’ which was not a box office hit however Doctor Sleep managed to make some money at the box office and now the makers are back with a third part.

The synopsis of the book reads out “In a small New England town, over half a century ago, a shadow falls over a small boy playing with his toy soldiers. Jamie Morton looks up to see a striking man, the new minister. Charles Jacobs, along with his beautiful wife, will transform the local church. The men and boys are all a bit in love with Mrs. Jacobs; the women and girls feel the same about Reverend Jacobs—including Jamie’s mother and beloved sister, Claire. With Jamie, the Reverend shares a deeper bond based on a secret obsession. When tragedy strikes the Jacobs family, this charismatic preacher curses God, mocks all religious belief, and is banished from the shocked town.”

Mike Flanagan is attached to the film as the writer with the option of directing the film currently the film is under the works and no release date has been announced.
