Pakistan bans Indian content from its airwaves!
For any nation in the world, culture holds a paramount importance as it distinguishes it from rest of the world. But at the current hour, the world has become a global village because of the progress man has made and this progress is also affecting the cultures of the world with an incredible pace.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Saturday while hearing petition of United Producers Association (UPA) announced a complete ban on the airing of Indian content on Pakistani Channels with immediate effect.
CJP suspended verdict of the Lahore High Court (LHC) allowing airing of Indian content on Pakistani channels.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) remarked, “India is shrinking flow of water into Pakistan and forcing closure of our dams. Why shouldn’t we close their channels”
In 2016, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) had imposed a complete ban on airing Indian content on local television and FM radio channels.
