Pakistan has imposed a temporary ban on the screening and exhibition of the Bollywood movies on this years Eid Holidays. Sad news for all the bhai fans as we would not get a chance to watch Race 3 on the big screens.

According to a notification issued by the ministry of information and broadcasting, the exhibition and screening of Indian and foreign films will be banned from two days before the Eid to until two weeks after the holidays.

A document has been issued by the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage to the chairman of Pakistan Film Exhibitors Association.The document issued clearly says that no foreign importer of movies will be purchasing any Indian films during Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-Ul-Azha. The government has given instructions that only local films will be screened on these festivals.




Danyal Gillani also tweeted on his official twitter account “Federal Govt has imposed restriction on the screening of Indian movies in Pakistani cinemas on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr & Eid ul Azha. To promote local film industry, cinemas in Pakistan would not be able to screen Indian movies 2 days before & 2 weeks after the Eid days.”

Pakistani film producers and and artists have been complaining that their films do not get much attention and they get stiff competition from the bollywood and hollywood films and that is one big reason Pakistani films are not able to to big businesses with their films.

Well this Eid-ul-fitr theres going to be no Race 3 that means we have Mahira Khan’s 7 din Mohabbat In, Jawed Sheikhs Wajood And the War Drama Azaadi.
