Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico gets shelved after three seasons
Bad news for Priyanka Chopra’s fans as Bollywood’s biggest star and international icons action thriller Quantico won’t be renewed for the fourth season.
The decision was taken by ABC network post the third season, not getting favorable TRP’s. Season three will serve as the season finale. The first season was a big success when it debuted in 2015, setting new records. Due to its dense narrative, it started to loosen its grip and continued to decline through season two and three.
Created by Joshua Safran, the show starred Priyanka Chopra as Alex Parrish – an FBI recruit who joins the agency after graduating from the FBI Academy and becomes a prime suspect of a terrorist attack on Grand Central Terminal.
The current season witnessed Alex going back to navigating the dangerous waters of the CIA that she left behind when she retired to Italy.
Priyanka Chopra gained global acclaim after the show and also won two People‘s Choice Awards for her role.
While the show got cancelled, Indian-American actor Kal Penn expressed his desire to work with Priyanka Chopra. He tweeted to her:
During her stay in the US, Priyanka debuted in Hollywood with Baywatch and made two more English films – A Kid like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic?
Meanwhile in Bollywood, she was last seen in PrakashJha’s Jai GangaaJal, which released in 2016. Priyanka also produced several regional films through her Purple Pebble Pictures. Marathi film Ventilator, Punjabi film Sarvann and Sikkimese film Pahuna were critically acclaimed.
As of now, Priyanka Chopra is all set to star alongside Salman Khan in “Bharat” directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Bharat is the Hindi adaptation of Korean film Ode to My Father, the rights of which were acquired by Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri.
Priyanka has worked under Zafar’s direction for Gunday, and will also be teaming up with Khan after Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Salaam-e-Ishq.
Zafar, who has been busy preparing for the movie, is happy that Bharat marks Chopra’s homecoming to Bollywood after working in a Hollywood TV show and film. Bharat has started its prep in London, after which director Zafar will move to Spain, Poland, Portugal, and Malta.
The film will feature Khan sporting five different looks spanning 60 years, wherein a crucial part will showcase the actor in his late 20’s, looking much leaner and younger.
Bharat is produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, will release on Eid 2019.
