The last time we saw Rani Mukerji on the big screen was back in 2014 in her film “Mardaani”. Her performance was really appreciated after the release of the film. After the movie Rani and her producer-director husband Aditya welcomed their daughter Adira. Obciously films took a backseat for Rani until April this year when she came back to the sets to shoot for her new movie “Hichki”. Today the trailer has dropped on us and most of her legion fans (including us) were quite excited. We cannot wait for the film to hit the theatres with a bang.

The trailer starts with an introduction to Naina Mathur played by the actress. She gets a job at an elite school despite her speech defect, Tourette syndrome. The lady is then assigned to teach the slum kids. Obviously it would take time for her to win over the students with her persistence. The trailer has a very positive educational message regarding education also making it accessible to unprivileged people. The kids have played an important role as troublemakers.

We still remember what Rani had to say about the film after reading to the script “I was looking for a script that would challenge and excite me, and Hichki came my way. Each of us has a weakness that pulls us back. It could be a disability or any condition but if we just look at it as simply a hiccup, we can emerge as a winner. It won’t come in the way of achieving our dreams. Hichki is built on this positive premise and I decided to take it up” Said by Rani In a press conference. Well she couldn’t have said it better.
