Actor Rick Moranis will be marking his comeback with the famous franchise Honey I Shrunk the Kids.Joe Johnston who created the franchise back in 1989 will be coming back to the director’s chair to direct the film which is titled Shrunk, alongside Josh Gad who is the lead at Disney.
The films official synopsis reads out “Moranis will reprise his role of Wayne Szalinski, an inventor who accidentally shrinks his and his next-door neighbour’s children to a quarter of an inch with his electromagnetic shrinking machine.Todd Rosenberg will pen the script of the new film, which will see Gad play Szalinski’s son who also accidentally shrinks his family.”
David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing the project through their company Mandeville Films and Television banner. His film credits include movies such as 1984’s Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel, Spaceballs, Parenthood and The Flintstones remake.However since 1997 Rick Moranis decided to take a break from Acting as he was really emotional with the demise of his wife however he did some comedy roles however not full flesh roles.
Shrunk will mark his first proper acting role in more than 15 years. The film is currently under the works and the famous franchise is coming back well that means we will be getting some comedy boost really soon.
