Robert Downey Jr has revealed that Sherlock Holmes 3 is still happening. Directed by Guy Ritchie, Sherlock Holmes franchise has two movies Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows that stars Robert Downey Jr as the detective Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as his companion Dr. John Watson. The first film was a huge success for the Warner Bros and a sequel was released quickly and it also became a hit.
Robert Downey Jr. has been playing Tony Stark for eight years now. However, it’s not the only major movie franchise that the actor is involved with. He also currently owns the role of the big screen Sherlock Holmes. It’s been nearly years since we’ve seen, anything from that series, but now Robert Downey Jr. is talking about it again, and he’s talking about filming one this year.
Robert Downey Jr. mentioned that whenever he’s in London he tries to meet up with his Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie. The actor was then asked if any of those meetings include conversations about a Sherlock Holmes 3.
Robert Downey Jr. said “We’re talking about it right now now I can’t wait. We can do some preliminary stuff. I know Guy Ritchie loves me as much as I love him and he damn well should. When we’re making those Sherlock movies it is off the hook. We’ll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m excited about it.”
While in the first film we saw Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson battling against Mark Strong’s noble serial killer Lord Henry Blackwood, and in the second film which featured Sherlock’s arch villain Professor James Moriarty, played by Jared Harris.
Let’s see if Sherlock Holmes will be coming out this year or not. Sherlock Holmes fans will be excited if the film comes out until then we can only wait.
