Dhaani stars, Sami Khan and Madiha Imam, have reunited after two years for Mohsin Ali’s next drama serial, titled as Woh Mera Dil Tha.
Written by Faiza Iftikhar of Mein Sitara fame, the drama has been produced by Showcase Productions.We recently went to the sets of the drama serial where the cast and crew were busy in recording some crucial scenes.Madiha Imam, who made her Bollywood debut in Manisha Koirala starrer Maya, excitedly shared details of her new venture.
“It is a twisted love story of three friends, but please don’t misunderstand it with a love triangle. In fact, it is that twist that holds them together,” she said.
Madiha further added that her character has a lot of shades.
“My fans will love to see my character evolving throughout the drama. It changes according to situations – at times audience will find her bubbly and full of life but in the very next scene she turns out to be a sober and a mature girl,” she added.
Sami Khan will play a role of a boy of lower middle class in the drama, who is struggling hard to make big in life and in search of good opportunity to turn his dreams into reality.
“I play the elder child of a lower-middle class family, who has recently completed her studies and is now looking for a job to financially support his family,” he said.
Revealing more details about the project he said it is based on stories of two different couples.
“It’s about two people who love each other but they got separated –on the other hand, there is another couple who hate each other but they end up being together”, he said.
Sami also stated that besides a touching story the drama features various lighter moments that audience will find interesting and will also relate to.
After giving a hit (Chupan Chupai) on a silver screen, Mohsin Ali is returning to television with ‘Who Mera Dil Tha’ and he is super excited about this project.
“In Pakistan, television is a bigger medium than cinema and we really need to understand this. Drama serials help us a lot in gaining audience attention so I don’t see any harm in doing a drama after a film,” the director stated.
The drama studded cast also included Furqan Qureshi, Behroz Sabzwari, Hina Mumtaz, Shaheen and Tariq Jameel.
