The much-anticipated directorial project of Sarmad Khoosat, ‘Aakhri Station’, starring Sanam Saeed, Nimra Bucha and Mikaal Zulfiqar in lead roles is all set to air on ARY Digital from February 13.
The seven episodes long mini-series is an effort to highlight women and gender-specific issues and is based on real-life narratives.
The lead actress of one of the episode of the mini-series Sanam Saeed confirmed a local tabloid that the much-awaited program would set to start in the coming month.
While talking about her role in the drama she said that she played a role of woman struggling with depression.
“I play a woman struggling with depression amongst other women struggling with issues in society,” Sanam said. “Since it is with the Kashf foundation, it is made for creating awareness and highlighting certain issues.”
Aakhari Station is comprised of stories of seven women who meet on a train.
Written by Amna Mufti, the mini-series has been directed by Sarmad Khoosat.
“What I’m striving to achieve with this series is an honest, socially relevant, hard hitting story that provokes thought and reaches a wider audience. Even if it impacts one person, I will feel that the drama has accomplished its goal,” stated Sarmad Khoosat, in a press release.
Apart from depression, the mini-series would also many serious issues prevalent in our society including HIV, drug addiction, mental health of women, prostitution and violence against women.
