Spyglas Media is developing a reboot for the horror classic Scream to be directed by filmmaker Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett who also directed the film ready or not.

Scream was a horror classic in the year  1996 which was one heck of a movie and the film was directed by Wes Craven. The story of the film revolved around a young woman who lives in a small town and becomes the target of a Ghostface killer who wears a mask inspired by the Edvard Munch’s painting ‘The Scream’.

Scream the horror film became a blockbuster hit after the gore and violence it shows and also the serial killer story also sent shivers down peoples spine and that is when Kevin Williamson decided to make this a franchise and wrote a total of 4 films and all four of them were blockbuster hits.All the four films starred the same cast Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

The last feature film in the franchise scream 4 released back in 2011 and that was the end of the blockbuster franchise. According to recent reports there are no updates on the films shooting and it is still unclear if the film will be a reboot of the film or will it be a continuation of the story leading to a fifth part in the franchise.
