While it was a great year of results for DC last year with the widely appreciated Wonder Woman however Justice League did not so good in the Hollywood film industry and now in 2018 DC will be attempting to reinvent itself with some standalone films like Aquaman and Shazam.

The trailer starts off we see billy batson who is a foster child and gets adopted but then when he joins school he gets bullied by some people, where he fights them off and manages to escape in a Subway. He then meets a god who gives him superpowers, when billy pronounces the Shazam he turn into a superhero. The trailer seems to be light hearted and funny and it looks like people will love this film as it looks completely different from all the other DC universe films.

Shazam is currently being filmed in Toronto. The makers of the film Shazam have revealed the Official logo for the film on their Twitter account. If we talk about the logo, it is really different from the other previous DC superhero logos, Justice League, Man of Steel or Wonder Woman, all of the films logos had darker tones and maybe because of that could not attract much attention. Shazam’s new logo is a lot more colourful, bright and manages to include Shazam’s lightning bolt in a great way.

Shazam tells us the story of a boy Billy Batson, a 14 year old foster kid who can turn into an adult superhero when he shouts the word “SHAZAM!”. While Asher Angel will be playing the boy’s role, Zachary Levi has been chosen in to play the adult superhero Shazam. Dr Thaddeus Sivana, the film’s villain, will be played by Mark Strong. The film’s official synopsis of the film says “A 14-year-old boy named Billy Batson is granted the powers of six ancient heroes by a dying wizard, which he activates by saying the wizard’s name, “Shazam!” Upon doing so, he is transformed by a magic lightning bolt into an adult superhero. Each of the ancient heroes’ initials are represented by the letters in the word: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury.”

Helmed by Annabelle: Creation and Lights Out director David F Sandberg, Shazam! Will be hitting the screens on April 5, 2019, which makes Aquaman the first DC film to release right after the release of Justice League.
