Dabaang actress Sonakshi Sinha never gets afraid of signing off unconventional projects – be it non-serious comedy flicks like Welcome to New York and Son of Sardar or action packed thrillers like Force 2, Akira, Rowdy Rathore or Ittefaq.

The actress has currently been busy in the shoot of her upcoming film, ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’ in Malaysia with Diana Penty. It is once again a daring step taken by Sinha to work in a project with two heroines in the lead roles.

In 2016, Diana Penty starred in Happy Bhag Jayegi which turned out to be a sleeper hit. Last year, when a leading daily asked Sonakshi if it is difficult for her to sign a two-heroine movie if she does not share an equation with her co-star, “No, how do you make equations like that all the time? So many times there have been actors whom I didn’t know or had an equation with when I worked with them for the first time. Akshaye Khanna, for instance. Why should it be any different for a heroine? I have not worked with Jacqueline (Fernandez) before but I also meet her at parties and we get along really well. I am someone who gets along with everyone. So I need to find someone who I’m not okay with, first to decide on this.”

After completing the Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi shoot in Malaysia, Sona will head to Mumbai to start preparation for her next big project, Kalank, starring Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Varun Dawan in lead roles.  The actress while talking about the film said that she has been really excited about this project.

“The film has a stellar star cast. I have worked with only Sanju sir earlier in ‘Son of Sardar’ but with the rest of the cast, I will be sharing screen for the first time. Madhuri ji (Dixit) has been one of my favourite actresses. We all have looked up to her. So, to be in the same frame as her is such an honour. I am super excited.”

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, also stars Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Shergill. The film is slated to release on August 24, 2018
