Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that the upcoming film Spider-Man: Far From Home will be marking the end of Phase 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which started back in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War. Phase 3 also came out with two films that grossed over 2 Billion dollars the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Endgame is currently on the way to relaunch in the cinemas once again to take over the all-time record of James Cameron’s Avatar.

In a recent interview Kevin Feige had explained why Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the end towards Phase 3, he said “As we were working on ‘Endgame’, we realised that the true end of the entire Infinity Saga, the final film of Phase 3, had to be ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, because in the spoiler we lose Tony Stark at the end of ‘Endgame’.”

He further added on “The relationship between Peter Parker and Tony Stark is so special over the five films that Tom Holland has portrayed Spider-Man in the MCU, that we needed to see where his journey went, and see how does Spider-Man step out of the shadow of his mentor, Tony Stark, and become the true hero that he was always meant to be.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be starring Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L Jackson, Cobie Smulders and Jon Favreau . The film will be releasing on 15 July 2019.
