After the success of Mission Impossible: Fallout which is the 6th film in the franchise, will also be having part 7 and part 8 in the franchise. Tom cruise had announced that he will be continuing to play the role of Agent Ethan Hunt which he has been playing since 1996 and he has also announced that the 7th and 8th part in the franchise will be hitting the big screens in Summer 2021 and 2022.
The upcoming parts will be directed by Christopher Mcquarrie who also helmed Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Mission Impossible: Fallout. He will be returning to the director’s chair once again he also confirmed this news via his official twitter account.
According to reports these two films will be shot back to back just like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: EndGame. On the other side we will be seeing Tom Cruise in Paramount Pictures upcoming film and the sequel to the famous film Top Gun. Top Gun: Maverick is the second part in the Top Gun franchise and is based on fighter jets the film will be hitting the theaters in 2020.
Christopher Mcqaurrie is also in the Top Gun: Maverick team and to avoid any conflicts they moved the Mission Impossible films in 2021 and 2022. The last Mission Impossible film Mission Impossible: Fallout earned a total of 790 Million dollars and that was enough for the franchise to decide that if they want to continue the franchise or not.
