The actor turned host Veena Malik has tried her hands on singing too and in a recently released song, ‘Yeh Kia Baat Hoi Hai’ she can be seen rapping with husband Asad Khattak.
The song takes a dig at our flawed political system and presents some of the critical issues of the country in a satirical manner. Some of the issues that have been highlighted in the video included corrupt politicians’ offshore companies, rigged elections, exploitation of the poor, etc — and also the way the media works in Pakistan.
The video has been produced by Malik and directed by Ali N K. It features a line-up of parody artists from the small screen who get to play different politicians.
In a recent press conference Veena Malik told media that the video was shot in a record time of “just one long shift of 18 hours, at Bari Studios.
The actress while talking to the media also said that there was “no political agenda behind it.” She also added that she never intended to offend anyone through this video but to highlight some of the issues in a funny manner. Hence, the disclaimer that appears at the start of the video mentioned: “The ability to laugh at ourselves is the best level of tolerance.”
The song has received awesome response on the social media as within 24 hours it has gained over 64K views on Veena Khan Malik’s official Facebook page and has been extensively shared.
Veena Malik made her debut in showbiz through films but appeared in limelight after her controversial appearance in Indian Reality show, Bigg Boss and a magazine shoot where she posed semi-naked.
She also hosted a political satire show, Hum Saab Umeed Se Hai on Geo television and currently she is a part of Bol Network.
