Jackpot is gearing up for its nationwide re-release on January 11, 2019, producer Khurram Riaz has announced.
A new poster has been launched by the makers which shows the new release date.
Unfortunately, the film couldn’t get the expected number of shows when released due to Hindi film ‘Sanju’
Jackpot is directed by Shoaib Khan, written by Babar Kashmiri with India’s Anubhav Bansal as cinematographer. The music director is Naveed Nashad and choreographer Sonu Dangerous. The Shoaib Khan directorial stars Noor Hassan, Sana Fakhar, Ismail Tara, and Javed Sheikh, alongside Indian actor Reyna Malhotra.
Speaking to Celebdhaba producer Khurram Riaz spilled the beans about the cinema mafia:
“When Jackpot released on 6th July, 2018, it was a nightmare for me to see the horrid allocations and odd timings given to the film. Jackpot was sidelined due to the ‘Sanju’ fever.
I don’t get the point that why our own films are being treated as secondary stuff due to Indian content. Being a producer, it takes a lot of courage and effort to make a film, and all of it goes in vein because of this partiality.
Jackpot was sabotaged by the cinema owners from day one, although it performed very well in the weird number of shows it got. The Sanju fever was so high that we decided to re-release the film later as none of the distributor were willing to allot us shows in the prime time slots.
As of now the feedback is positive and people are willing to see Pakistani content. The team of Jackpot have really given their best to the film. It is good to see that distributors are cooperating with us this time. Jackpot claims to be the first Pakistani film being shot partly in Thailand including Coral and James Bond islands. As Pakistan’s cinema is making slow progress towards revival we request the public to watch this film and I believe they will not be disappointed”
