Yahya Abdul Mateen II has been chosen for the lead role in the upcoming Matrix 4. It has been reported that the Aquaman actor will be bagging up a lead role in the fourth film of the famous Matrix Franchise however it is still unclear what role he will play.

Keanu Reeves is returning to the Matrix Franchise once again for the role of NEO. Warner Bros. have officially confirmed that a fourth Film in the Matrix Universe is in development which will be starring Keanu reeves as Neo once again and Carrie-Ann Moss as Trinity.

Keanu Reeves recently spoke about his role as neo and the actor has said he is looking forward to the ambitious script of Matrix 4 and returning as Neo. In an interview the actor said “The script is very ambitious as it should be.”

The Matrix co-creator Lana Wachowski will be directing the Matrix 4. Wachowski wrote the script with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchel. Wachowski will also produce the film with Grant Hill. Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and globally distribute the film. The Matrix 4 is expected to begin filming in early 2020.

The Matrix and its two sequels , The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions had earned a whopping of 1.6 Billion Dollars at the worldwide Box Office. All the three Installments starred Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss and Laurence Fishburne. It is currently unknown if Fishburne will be returning or not.
